A green map of the United States.

When it comes to professional organizing, location matters more than you might think. Whether you're looking to connect with local peers, explore potential markets, or simply satisfy your curiosity, understanding where organizers are most densely concentrated can offer some fascinating insights.

At AnyDrawer, we wanted to find out: Which U.S. cities are home to the most professional organizers per capita? So we dug into the data.

How We Did It

We based our study on publicly available data from NAPO (the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals), mapping each member to their nearest major metro area. Then, using the latest U.S. Census population estimates, we calculated how many organizers each city has per 100,000 residents. This allowed us to compare cities on an even playing field, regardless of size.

Top 10 Cities with the Most Professional Organizers Per Capita (Ranked 10 to 1):

10. Richmond, VA 0.91 organizers per 100k residents — Rounding out the top 10, Richmond reflects a rising tide of organizing demand in smaller metros.

9. San Francisco, CA 0.93 organizers per 100k residents — Urban density and high productivity culture make SF a natural home for organizers.

8. San Diego, CA 1.03 organizers per 100k residents — A calm, coastal city with a love for minimalism and intentional design.

7. St. Louis, MO 1.10 organizers per 100k residents — St. Louis might be a surprise, but it stands out as a solid midwestern market for organizing professionals.

6. Seattle, WA 1.12 organizers per 100k residents — Tech meets tidy in Seattle, where efficiency and simplicity go hand-in-hand.

5. Portland, OR1.15 organizers per 100k residents — Known for conscious living and creativity, Portland rounds out the top 5 with a strong organizing presence.

4. Washington, DC1.19 organizers per 100k residents — The DC metro area blends a fast-paced lifestyle with a demand for structure—an ideal recipe for organizing services.

3. Austin, TX 1.32 organizers per 100k residents — Fast-growing and entrepreneur-friendly, Austin continues to attract professionals across creative and service industries.

2. Denver, CO 1.35 organizers per 100k residents — With a thriving small business community and love for wellness, Denver makes sense as a hub for organizing pros.

1. Baltimore, MD1.59 organizers per 100k residents — Baltimore may fly under the radar, but it claims the highest per-capita presence of professional organizers in the country.

Why This Matters

If you're a professional organizer, these stats can help you:

  • Discover strong peer networks
  • Identify competitive or underrepresented markets
  • Better understand how your metro area stacks up

And if you're a home professional or interior designer, it may help explain which cities are more familiar with the value of what you do—and where opportunity may be waiting.
